Why I'm Moving Away from Personal Branding...

Last week, I had a conversation with a newsletter expert.

What we talked about:

  • Newsletter strategy
  • Market research
  • How businesses meet pre-existing desires.

It was a bit of an ego punch, but I want to be clear about this:

Personal branding is still an important thing you need to find a job in today's market.

It's the best way to establish yourself as a professional and connect with like-minded people.

So, if personal branding is so powerful, then why am I changing things up?

Sometimes you may think you're already on the right path, but sometimes you can also need a little redirection.

That's what happened here.

For most of Year 1, I have written about personal branding as a whole.

Now, I'm looking to take it to the next level.

After conducting market research, one thing I learned was that expanding into high-demand niches is the best way to grow.

Personal branding is a broad topic.

Your digital identity stems from the skills you possess and how you can leverage them in your next job.

There are certain skills in high demand right now that laid-off people can learn about.

They can also leverage these skills to earn some extra income while searching for their next job.

Here's what this conversation made me realize.

The people growing huge followings and making serious money aren't teaching personal branding.

They're teaching email marketing, ghostwriting, and how to create digital products.

Essentially, they teach skills or provide services that help people earn money, improve their relationships, or achieve better health.

Why is that?

Because these skills solve urgent problems.

  • If you're on the brink of a breakup, you'll spend a lot of money to save your relationship.
  • If you're at risk of diabetes, you'll shell out big bucks to get healthier.
  • If you're not making ends meet income-wise, you're going to pay someone handsomely to find a plan.

So far, I've been teaching what amounts to a vitamin when I should be teaching painkillers.

So, here's what I'm doing about it going forward.

I'm not abandoning personal branding.

But, I'm expanding into high-demand skills that can help you monetize your online presence, such as:

  • Email Marketing
  • Ghostwriting
  • Building digital products
  • Lead generation
  • Sales funnels

Starting next week, I'm going to start breaking down these skills and more, and how they can help you.

So, I hope you'll consider joining me as I take this newsletter to the next level.

I've got some great ideas cooking and I can't wait to share them with you all.

As always,

Stay branded and keep building.

I'm about to share a valuable lesson that will help you save time. Let's face it: Many of us waste days, weeks, and even months applying for jobs using traditional tactics. How do I know? I spent years doing the same thing until I discovered the world of personal branding. Allow me to explain.
