The Future of Your Career Depends on THIS

Following this simple advice will save you a great deal of stress.

This advice could help you quickly reach your next opportunity...

...I'll share that specific advice with you in just a moment...

But first, let me tell you about success through unexpected connections.

Greg Roche lost his job one day in October.

He then spent November doing what every other job seeker does: applying for jobs online.

Greg sent emails and LinkedIn messages but did not hear back from the people he contacted.

Until one day in December, he unexpectedly ran into a former coworker named Kristie while Christmas shopping at a hardware store.

She asked how he was, and he told her about his layoff.

Then, Kristie did what most people hadn't done.

She mentioned that she knows a guy named Dennis who is also searching for a job.

In networking, every connection, regardless of their current employment status, is a potential opportunity.

People advise finding well-connected individuals in the organizations you wish to work for.

Despite Dennis not being a traditional high-value connection, Dennis offered a unique perspective that Greg found invaluable.

Greg connected with Dennis through Linkedin and had a great conversation.

They talked about what types of work they're interested in.

At the end of the conversation, Dennis introduced Greg to his friend Jorge, whom he had met during his job search.

Greg thinks, "Just what I need, another unemployed contact."

He met up with Jorge and discovered that both of them had backgrounds in human resources.

Simultaneously, Greg had another chain in motion: the vendor chain.

He stumbled on this networking source after letting people he worked with know he was leaving the company.

Then, a vendor named Jim contacted him, and they spoke several times about the type of jobs he was seeking.

As Greg added links to these chains, he found a position he wanted: the perfect role.

On the day he accepted that offer, he received a call from a woman who was Richard's assistant. She wanted to arrange a time to speak with him.

He took the call, and Richard's assistant told him he had an opening as Head of HR for his company and asked if he would be interested.

During the call, Richard mentioned he got his name from Jim.

They were discussing the HR roles at Richard's company, and he mentioned that he was looking to fill a position. Jim provided Richard with his name.

As Greg listened to the role, he realized that this would be a great fit for Jorge.

He didn't want to waste his time; he had just accepted another offer but knew someone for this role.

Greg forwarded Richard his resume, and Richard contacted Jorge about the role.

A few weeks later, Jorge contacted Greg to say he was starting a new job at Richard's company.

If this isn't a prime example of the power of networking, I don't know what is.

To master networking properly, you must know how to reach out to people.

Networking is not just about making connections. It's about maintaining and nurturing them.

This process helps create connections that can help you find your next opportunity.

I wrote an e-book about it.
